This is the page to watch for information about Wyoming Libertarian Party candidates and their races. Between election cycles, there isn't much here.
Wyoming's primary election will be on Tuesday, August 19 this year. Depending on the offices sought, Libertarian Party candidates must file their applications with either the Secretary of State or their county clerk to get their names on the primary election ballot. Applications and accompanying fees must be submitted no earlier than May 15 nor later than May 30. Instructions and forms may be obtained from your county clerk or the Secretary of State. See The Wyoming Libertarian Party's Candidacies page for more information. Our candidates must be registered to vote as Libertarians at the time of filing, but membership in the Libertarian Party is not required. Whether you are interested in seeking public office or not, please share this message with others you think would be good Libertarian candidates.
As soon as possible after filing, candidates should contact the Wyolp Webmaster to let him know the offices they are seeking (including district numbers for legislative candidates) and contact information (including email addresses and/or the URLs of their web sites) for posting on the party's web site.
For the statutory requirements and other election matters, consult the Wyoming Secretary of State's web page.
Of particular interest on the Wyoming Secretary of State's web page:
Richard Winger, of Ballot Access News, gave us the following counts of registered Libertarian in Wyoming as of February, 2004. The total is 234, down from 281 registered Libertarians in Wyoming in October of 2002. In case you aren't in that number, you can register Libertarian at your County Clerk's office. Past registration data are available at the Secretary of State's web page.
